4 below
It's 11pm in Denver and the temp is 8 degrees with a real feel of -4 degrees. It's 1 am in Lake Norman and is 61 degrees. Let's just say I'm not too sad to leave on nights like this. 34 days of freezing to go!

No Camera Cord=No Bloggin
Well - pretty much ever since this summer when all plans for NC came into motion - I became very lackluster in my blogging skills. I missed MANY significant events and postings. Just didn't have the time with planning and work. Then, since the packing chaos ensued - I've since been just super busy and again have been missing tons of posts of events in our lives. And now - I have no clue what became of our camera cord to plug into the computer since packing. So - I have no pics to post anymore to correspond with my posts. :( Now all my pics are just stuck on my camera. Good news is - my life is pretty boring these days. Just an endless sea of work. Nothing else really new here. Except - Cody turned 26 on Monday - and of course - I worked from 830am-945pm that day. So again-nothing really to speak of outside of work. I could tell you all about the kids I nanny for and potty training in detail - or about the new holiday promotions at Starbucks at length - but I'll spare you!
Almost every day I keep having to remind myself what our goals are and then the work isn't so bad. I am tired though-and I grow weary at times. My moving truck comes January 6th - and I keep that in mind. Health insurance through Starbucks is so close I can taste it!! :) My benes packet is en route in the mail as I type and benes will begin December1st! So our little family will soon be underway and Cody and I will begin "practicing." :) We already have our new apartment all squared away in NC and I'm really excited. I know once we move - Starbucks will be my ONLY job and Cody and I talk often about how great it will be for me to work part time again and have the freedom to be a good wife to him again. Not that I'm awful or anything - it's just my passions are to be in the home and cook and just be domestic - things that just aren't possible right now.
We also read this great article in a magazine recently about living simply and having a smaller home. It's so crazy - but that is totally mine and Cody's hearts. Like right now we have a 2b apt rented in NC cuz it's all that was available waterfront - but we are hoping a 1b opens up so we can downsize into that. We even talked about how since we sold our kitchen table - we just won't buy one at all and make our dining area - our office for now! The article just touched our hearts and it's just funny how God works on your hearts together - with your dreams, desires and goals.

Coupons Galore
So - I've just been stashing in lately on the coupons!! Seriously - my new phrase is "coupons are the new black." :) Now that I've been getting so many steals - I just don't have it in me to pay full price for anything when I know I just don't have to if I dig a little for a coupon/deal.
Today Cody&I each got complete Boston Market meals for dinner for just $1.08 each. Go to: moneysavingmom.com to find the coupon - its a few pages back into the postings. It expires Sunday! Oh-and we are cleaning up our house b/c we turn in the keys on Saturday and I even got BOGO on Mr. Clean magic erasers. :) It's the little things that make me smile. By the way - magic erasers really are just that - magical. Little magic cleaning elves must have invented them - b/c they are way awesome!
Also -today I just cashed in on a sweet deal regarding Christmas cards. I always like to send out photo cards but they aren't that cheap - plus you gotta add postage. Well - use the link through: moneysavingmom.com to vistaprint and they have a deal where you get 100 FREE postcards for the cost of shipping!! (which is $6.61 - but it takes 21 days for them to arrive - so hurry!) If you want to add a pic to personalize your postcard more it's an additional $2.49 - but still I just got 100 Christmas postcards (which postcard stamps are only like 0.28or0.29 cents each to send) for just $9!! Isn't that awesome! It was super easy to customize the card - pick a nice holiday theme, add my pic and all the text I wanted. I honestly liked it even better than the usual photocard templates. So cash in on this one!
Looking for some new shoes?? Go to oprah.com and print out the 50% off coupon for your entire purchase at Payless Shoes. It expires tomorrow though.
Tomorrow is FREE BAGEL FRIDAY at Einsteins. Go to: moneysavingmom.com to print off your free coupon and grab one before 11am - you bet Cody and I will. :)
And - last but not least - Saturday (Halloween) is Free Boo-rito day at Chipotle. Catch is - you gotta dress up like a burrito. So Cody&I generally don't do these types of things (like dress up like a cow for a free chick-fil-a, etc) but 2 of our friends are gonna do it with us - and it's easy -so we are gonna wrap ourselves up in tinfoil and all 4 of us snag free boo-ritos! :) Ha!
Happy Couponing!
OH-one last coupon deal. FREE spag/meat sauce at Fazolis. Coupon doesn't expire til January. Just gotta buy a drink. So again - like $2 for Cody and I to eat. Awesome! Again - moneysavingmom.com and look it up!

Once Tarnished
So tomorrow is the big move and I've been busy packing, working and making trips to Goodwill. Yesterday I packed up my clothes and had bags and bags to donate so I swung by Goodwill and then meandered inside. Whoops!
Staring at me was this tarnished silver teapot. (I've ALWAYS wanted a silver teapot - but they are usually kinda pricey at Antique stores.) Well, it was awful looking -almost totally black and must have been overlooked many times - but I stared at it and saw its beauty underneath - I was determined to restore it to its original glory days and make it mine. Especially for the deal I got at Goodwill.
Luckily I haven't closed up my cleaning supplies box yet - so I got home - took out my silver polish and worked on this little pot furiously. I talked to it and told it it was beautiful - that I would restore it and happily call it mine. It took A LOT of love, polish and elbow grease - but I love it. It's still not perfect looking in all its dainty intricate places - but I'll work on that after we arrive in NC. For now I wanted it to be beautiful, restored, loved and mine. :)
As I stood there polishing it God spoke to my heart. This is exactly what he does for us. He bought me at a price, called me his, scrubbed away all the tarnished places and made me shine again beautifully. And although not all my little intricate places are perfect - he sees me as perfect - in all my imperfection. After I finished the polishing my hands were covered in black filth and my fingernails are still dirty despite the many washings. Just like I have the dirt of my little teapot - Jesus took on all of my dirt. This is one beautiful little teapot that I know is from my heavenly father. I can't wait to use it and display it in NCand think of all he's done for me.
I hope you think of your personal teapot story and thank God for how good he is today! :) We were all once tarnished.

Sanity
Okay - so I had to post just a few pictures of my house PRIOR to the packing explosion. I honestly get tense and nervous in chaos so I'm really edgy right now because my house is in such disarray with boxes. I had to take a moment to regain my sanity and reflect on how it used to look. :) Also to look at my old table and cream couch which we recently parted with via Craiglist. :)

Packing, Packing &More Packing
What a mess!
Don't even get me started on our garage!
Besides selling random stuff on craigslist, that's really all I've been up to lately. Trying to figure out how to organize everything into: what will go into storage in NC, what will go into apt in NC and what stays out while we remain in CO.

Coupons it is!
So i t looks like I'm gonna stick with my couponing ways. :) This week I bought $80 worth of groceries for $49. Some stuff was totally free - like Ester-C vitamin C drink sticks. (We need all the C we can get!) Cody said he looked over our budget from the month before to this past month and I cut our grocery budget to 1/3 of what it was. Yea!! Plus, I get a little joy every time I leave the grocery store - so I've gotta stick with it. Now that I know how easy it could be - how could I pay full price again?
Oh - and this week I snagged some sweet deals @Walgreens. They had Campbell's soups on sale with a Wags coupon 2/$1 which they were normally like $1.69each. So that in itself is a good deal....but then I had a manufacturer coupon for $1 off 2 cans. So they were free! Ha - love it! I also picked up 2 Glade candles that were normally $6.49each marked down to $3.99 on sale, plus I had 2 $3.50 off 1 candle coupon - so each candle was $0.49each. All in all - 2 soups and 2 candles for $1!
